Start with the right Common Cents help section, from first setup to budgeting, planning, imports, and everyday workflows.
This is the full Common Cents help library. Use it when you want more than a quick answer from Help search and need the full context for how a feature works.
Common Cents has a few layers. You start with a file, accounts, categories, and transactions. After that, you can move into budgeting, targets, income planning, debt, imports, exports, and saved workflows.
Start with the section that matches your question #
- Getting Started is the best place to begin if this is your first file.
- Dashboard explains the high-level balances and recent activity view.
- Accounts, Payees, and Transactions cover the daily record-keeping basics.
- Budgeting, Targets, and Income Planning explain how to plan money instead of only recording it.
- Debt, Fixed Assets, and Labels cover more specialized workflows.
- Importing Transactions, Exporting Data, and Combo Palette cover productivity tools.
- Settings and Guides help you tailor the app and follow step-by-step workflows that cut across multiple sections.
How to use this documentation #
Each section overview gives you the short version first, then links you to focused pages for the details and the common gotchas. If you are not sure where to start, read the overview page for that section before opening a detail page.
Recommended path for new users #
If you are setting up Common Cents for the first time, read these sections in order:
That path gives you the core model of the app before you move into planning, debt payoff work, imports, or reporting-style workflows.
